The Book of Obadiah
The book of Obadiah is the shortest book in the Old Testament.
The name Obadiah means: “Servant of the Lord”.
Obadiah gave God’s message to the Edomites. Because of their pride, their destruction, and shame towards their relatives in Judah (Israel), they stood condemned and would be destroyed.
Edom was a mountainous nation where the spectacular city of Petra is found. As descendants of Esau, the Edomites were rugged, fierce, and proud warriors with a seemingly invincible mountain home.
