Jesus in the Wilderness

Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness for 40 days and 40 nights of fasting when Satan came to tempt him. Jesus was tempted three times: The Temptation of Desires: Turning Stones into Bread - Representing the temptation for material needs and desires over spiritual nourishment. The Temptation of Power: Jumping off the Temple – Symbolizing the temptation to gain recognition and power. The Temptation of Pride: Worshiping Satan – Illustrating the temptation for worldly power and forsake spiritual devotion. When need to fight Satan the same way Jesus did - by knowing and hiding God’s Word in our hearts so that we won’t sin against God.
