Simeon and Anna Recognizing the Long-Awaited Messiah

Luke 2:21-38 When Mary and Joseph took the eight-day-old baby Jesus to the Temple for Purification, there were two people there waiting for the long-awaited Messiah. Simeon was drawn to the Temple that day by the Holy Spirit. God promised him that he would see the Messiah before he died. And Anna was already there praying. Anna was a widow who served as a prophetess at the Temple. They took baby Jesus in their arms and praised God for the long-awaited Messiah. A promise that Israel has been waiting on for 1500 years.
